Our solid, high quality, well built bat houses come to you in one of two forms... either already painted for your area or region -or- not painted for you to complete once you receive your order.
Because our bat houses are made from solid rough-cut cedar it is not absolutely necessary for you to paint them, however it is recommended for better heat control -and- for the greater longevity of your bat house. They should just last longer for you.
How to Finish:
NOT Painted Bat House:
Inspect your bat house to make sure "all" wood seams are caulked and sealed to prevent drafts and moisture leakage.
Paint or stain the "outside only" according to your region.
(see instructions -or- click here for region) Use at least "2" coats.
Staple the mesh screen material (included) to the bat house landing area. (make sure no rough edges are present and staples are flat)
Attach your bat house to your mounting of choice -or- structure.
(see instructions -or- click here for installation suggestions)
Caulk and seal around any screws, bolts or staples, etc. used on the bat house in preparation for installation. (make sure no sharp objects protrude into bat house interior that could injure the bats)
